2009 Invasive Plant Management Field Day

8:30 – 3:30 pm – Indoor and outdoor program – Chemical and mechanical options for controlling invasives, research on invasive control and habitat restoration, etc. – Wright Forestry Center, West Lafayette. Fee of $30 includes lunch. Contact karenann@purdue.edu or phone 765-494-3583 to register.

 

Statewide Forest Assessment public meetings

These meetings will have an open house format and attendees are not required to stay for the entire 2 hour duration. Responses indicating attendance are appreciated but not required and may be directed to stateassessment@dnr.in.gov. These meetings are open to the public and will be designed to facilitate exchange and promote cooperative partnerships. Jim Shilling woods just north of Knox, go north on US 35 and look for signs We will be hearing speakers cover the History of the woods, Timber sale and landowner objectives, Timber Markets and sales, and Harvest follow-up. The event is sponsored by our Arrow Head Country RC&D forestry committee, Soil and Water Conservation Districts and Cooperative Extension offices in Fulton, Marshall, Pulaski, and Starke Counties.
