Genetics
Molecular as well as analytical methods are applied to a variety of genetic questions (e.g., genetic diversity, relatedness, heritability) in both natural and captive populations. A variety of plants and animals are studied in modern laboratory facilities that are enhanced by departmental field sites.

Undergraduate students work with faculty and staff in the Office of Student Services to select courses that fulfill their interests and requirements of their major. Graduate students work with their major professor and advisory committee to develop a plan of study that is customized to their individual needs.
