Gladden is in the Bluegrass natural region in Scott County. It contains a total of 106 acres of natural or planted hardwood forest.

Research and education
The Gladden Woods is used for forest inventory and regeneration research, exotic invasive plant control and as a field site for education programs for private landowners. Income from this property is used for scholarships.
Directions
To reach the property take SR 56 east out of Scottsburg to 100 East (first county road outside of Scottsburg). Turn north on 100 East for about a mile to County Road 50 North. Turn east onto 50 North for about 1.25 miles to the northern edge of the Gladden property.
