Research projects
This site is heavily used as a field laboratory throughout the year. Research activities include wildlife habitat and nutrition, population dynamics and wetlands restoration. the site contains the only large wetland in the Indian Pine Natural Resource Field Station. There is also ongoing research investigating the occurrence and abundance of acorn weevils in fragmented landscapes and effects of landscape pattern on animal-mediated acorn dispersal and seedling recruitment. Due to its close proximity to campus, the Wildlife Area is a valuable field laboratory used in undergraduate and graduate teaching.
