I graduated from Purdue in 1984 with a BS in Forestry.  My husband Paul and I own a tree and lawn care business in Denver, CO.  American Arbor Care, Inc. (www.americanarborcare.com) is entering its 13th season (2007) taking care of Denver’s urban forest.  We specialize in the care of woody plants, pruning, insect/disease management, and special treatments as necessary to preserve and protect our high plains desert canopy.  We also take care of our clients’ lawns and are finding ourselves doing a lot more landscaping in recent years.  We are always looking for talented individuals to join our team at.  We welcome all Purdue students to contact us to discuss future employment options

Our sons, Dylan and Kyle - currently in high school, are two awesome young men who we love hanging around!  Having our own business presents opportunities to join them during their many activities at school and in sports.  I primarily coordinate our spring and fall tree planting projects, and occasionally do tree inventories for neighboring communities.  My passion for raptors began after taking an ornithology class at Purdue, and I continue to volunteer for the Raptor Education Foundation (www.usaref.org) here in the Denver area.

Whenever I share the fact that I am a Purdue graduate, I always receive a respectful glance or comment. It is a great feeling to know I have such wonderful credentials backing up my college education.  My advice to you is to never take that for granted, and make the most of your hard work in improving your future as well as the future of those that follow you.  I find the best part of my work is giving back to the community and seeing the fruits of our labor grow and flourish above us!
